We were a little under the weather yesterday after spending the night before dancing to Jape at Vicar Street. Determined not to lose the day we eventually dragged ourselves out of the apartment as the light was fading to see the last day of the Dublin Flea Christmas Market.
The main draw was Home Fries – one of our favourite food trucks from the festival scene so that was our first port of call for garlic and cheese fries – the ultimate hangover cure! Of course the first stand that Phil got stuck into was the records and would have happily stayed there until it was time to leave.
Split into three areas, there were over 100 traders peddling their wares – everything from retro furniture to handmade crafts to pre-loved books and bric-a-brack. It made for a pleasant evenings stroll around the point village – an area that we seldom visit. The most impressive stand for me was Molloy & Sons, Donegal handweavers with their beautiful selection of throws for only €50.
Back in the ranch dinner had to be a quick and easy affair so Phil russled up gluten free gnocci with Happy Pear Pesto accompanied by a white bean salad based on the Broccolini with Butter Beans recipe by The Kitchn. Comfort food for two weary bodies… and the Christmas celebrations have only just started…
